April’s ASSC Meet & Greet

April’s Meet and Greet was as much a delight as it was a surprise. It was enlightening to the treasures in the Bay Area and the amazing people that live here. Today, we tasted libations at Rosenblum Winery and Hanger One Distillery located on the abandoned military base in Alameda.
We started with light snacks on the deck of Rosenblum Winery before stopping by the quaint tasting bar where we were served a wonderful array of wines. We sampled a variety of Riesling, Chardonnay and Chateau la Paws, a delightful Zinfandel, that contributes a portion of its profits to animal rescue efforts.
Hanger One Distillery was lively and buzzing with energy. Our party had grown to 8 as we stepped up to the bar with a force. We chatted and got better acquainted over brandies, vodkas, and Qi White Tea Liqueur, which got “Thumbs Up” by the group as the best of the day.
Now a party of 12, we finish the day with an early dinner at La Piñata Mexican Restaurant on Park Blvd. The combination of good company and food, lively conversation, locally distilled spirits, and great Bay Area weather make a perfect Bay Area Saturday. A toast to Ava Harper, (ASSC membership renewal), Rebba Middleton, Benicia Cato, Meveta Montgomery, Angela Crossley, Amber Wilson, Barbara Williams, D'Juna Magee-Morgan, Willie Garner, Alfred Watts, Patsy Cunningham, and Phyllis Lohar-Singh for a cool Saturday afternoon.
