President's Message

HELLO ALL SEASONS

It saddens me to tell you that All Seasons founder George Phillips passed away this week. You may have seen George at the 35th Anniversary Gala last year. George was instrumental in setting up the organization we enjoy as the NBS. He was a National officer, he wrote bylaws for this great organization and of course it is because of him we have All Seasons. Although George has not been as active as he once was he enjoyed fishing and hangin’ out with his grandchildren. Our condolences go out to his family and many, many friends.

ELECTIONS
I would like to thank all who ran for office, those that served and our new elected officers. Thank you, Patsy for your work on the board. You gave us a first-class Newsletter and website as well as working at the numerous events for All Seasons and making that fantastic “hot-water cornbread” for my birthday. I want to thank Cynthia for jumping in and serving as Membership Recruiter and Membership Chairperson. They’re baaacck……Sedalia Benton and Deborah D.C. Carter, two of our best members who served on the board previously have returned because they just couldn’t get enough, welcome back. I also want to thank all the returning board members and appointees for returning for another year.

SUMMER CARNIVAL ’08
Everything is in full swing for what looks to be a fun weekend in the sun. The deadline for early registration has been extended, see Cynthia Cooper and get onboard. Remember this is a Western Region Fundraiser and we need more participants to sign up for this fun event. How can you pass up lying around the pool relaxing, never-ending margaritas, room hopping, golf and tennis and summertime parties? I asked you a question.

SUMMIT '09 SNOWMASS
Lodging has opened and registration prices have been set, time to talk to Angie and get your deposits in. We will descend upon this town known for its great skiing and 90% ski-in/ski-out housing. If you are a skier and you have yet to enjoy this type of lodging this is your chance. Think of it; walk out your door, put on your gear and ski down to the lift and at the end of the day, ski back to your front door. This is Snowmass people, don't miss out!

WINTER CARNIVAL ’09 HEAVENLY
We will do it again just like before. Host hotel and mountain are as before. Registration prices have been set so put this event on your time-off calendar. We are back to our usual time frame; I’m talking about the MLK weekend of course. I predict: We (All Seasons) will lead they way for registered participants once again. Its never to early to sign up, to prove this fact the Western region staff has set a pre-registration price of $135, available until the end of August. I know its June but what the hell, go ahead and write the check, we won’t tell.

FIRE MESSAGES OF THE MONTH:
Kids love water, teach them to swim ---- Put BBQ ashes in metal containers.

Don’t forget we will have our Annual “BBQ meeting in the Park” next month on July 2nd. Don’t go to the California Ballroom, we won’t be there.

Peace

Gary Garrett,
President
